England’s quicks must be rearranged for the West Indies tour due to injury.
Josh Tongue’s injury during training has forced England to reorganize their fast bowling lineup for their impending white-ball series against the West Indies.
After suffering an injury during an England Lions training camp in the United Arab Emirates, Tongue will miss the three-match ODI series in the Caribbean and the subsequent five-game T20I series.
While no replacement has been named for the T20Is, inexperienced right-armer Matthew Potts has been called up for Tongue for the ODI portion of the series.
Potts has participated in three One-Day Internationals for England; his most recent appearance occurred in a match against Ireland in Bristol, shortly before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup got underway.
Although Tongue has participated in two Test matches for England cricket team , he has not yet made his white-ball debut. Tongue was eager to make an impression following England’s failure to advance to the 50-over World Cup semifinals in India.
