Several more matches in the Inter Sports Clubs First Class Three Day Cricket Tournament, organized by Sri Lanka Cricket, began yesterday (24) at various stadiums.
Meanwhile, Nishan Madushka, Dushan Hemantha, and Nuvanindu Fernando led the batsmen who demonstrated their abilities on the day. Vanuja Sahan was named the day’s outstanding bowler, and Rajeev Weerasinghe completed the day by joining the 300-wicket club.
Nishan Madushka of Ragama Sports Club scored 101 off 137 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes against CCC, while Dushan Hemantha of BRC scored 102 off 113 balls with 4 fours and 7 sixes against Panadura.SSC’s Nuvanindu Fernando also scored 105 against Kandy Customs in 141 balls with 14 fours and a six.
Rajeeva Weerasing, Panadura’s right-arm off spinner He took 5 wickets against BRC, bringing his total to 300 in 90 first-class matches.
Meanwhile, the batsmen who scored half-centuries on the day included Dulash Udanyaga of the BRC team, Oshanda Fernando and Shalith Fernando of the Galle team, Dhananjaya de Silva of the Tamil Union team, Janishka Perera of the Moors team, Dashun Shanaka and Manoj Sarathchandra of the SSC team, and Rosco Thatil of the Air Force team.
