After round two of the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana, Indian golfer Aditi Ashok shot a bogey-free four-under 68 to surge into tied second place. Aditi, who won the season-opening tournament in Kenya, is only two strokes behind Kirsten Rudgeley of Australia (66-69), who is nine-under for 36 holes. In the opening round, the Indian fired 69. Diksha Dagar, the other golfer from India competing in the Tour Championships, shot 72-71 to finish at T-23. As of right now, she is ranked third in the Ladies European Tour’s order of merit, the Race to Costa Del Sol.

Aditi scored 68 after making birdies on the third, fifth, and ninth holes in addition to a four-birdie on the 13th.

Diksha made two birdies on the ninth and 13th holes, and a bogey on the first.

Aditi commented, “It’s been excellent. Obviously, I traveled from Florida last week and arrived here on Tuesday, so taking that into account, I think the first two rounds have gone well. I’m hoping to use the lessons I’ve learned from the golf course over the past two days and continue that over the next two.

“Today’s wind was different from yesterday’s, so some of the tee shots were challenging because you had to hit a different line with a different club. Although it will take some getting used to, so far our approach of tackling things one hole at a time has worked.” After her first round score of 66, Kirsten, a rookie on the LET, was in second place overnight. After that, she started out steadily and made her first birdie on the fifth hole. Then, on holes six and eight, she made two more in rapid succession before making one more on hole twelve.

The 22-year-old led the LET’s season finale by two at the halfway point after making her first stroke of the week on the 18th, where she finished at three under.

Anne-Lise Caudal of France, Ana Peláez Trivino of Spain, Madelene Stavnar of Norway, and Linn Grant of Sweden are the other four players tied for second place with Aditi. They are all playing at seven-under-par.With six birdies and only one bogey on her scorecard, Caudal shot a 67(-5) to fire the round of the day.

The Frenchwoman, who is presently ranked 71st in the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol, has a big week ahead of her since only the top 70 finishers will be granted full LET status for 2024.

Peláez Trivino of Spain shot 68 (-4) on day two at Real Club de Golf Las Brisas to build on her opening round score of 69 (-3). One of the six players who may win the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol is the LET winner, but he or she.
