Noah Lyles, the reigning world 100 and 200-meter champion, will compete in next year’s Boston Indoor Grand Prix, organizers announced on Tuesday.
The World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series event on February 4 also features Britain’s Jake Wightman, the world 1,500m champion last year, and local favorite Gabby Thomas, the world 200m runner-up.
Lyles, 26, began his 2023 campaign in Boston by winning the 60 meters in 6.51 seconds.
He won the 100-200 sprint double at this year’s World Championships in Budapest, as well as the US 4x100m relay, with a personal best of 9.83 seconds in the 100.
Wightman, 29, missed the entire 2023 season due to a right foot injury, and his debut in Boston will be his first major competition in nearly 13 months.
Thomas, 26, won a bronze medal in the 200m at the Tokyo Olympics before finishing second in the event this year in Budapest. She won her second US title at the distance in three years with a personal best of 21.60 seconds, making her the fourth-fastest woman in history.world championship 2024
