Yesterday at the Mercantile Cricket Association Grounds, Colombo South U15 defeated Colombo North U15 by a commanding 86 runs to win the Sri Lanka Youth Under 15 Cricket Tournament Championship.

The winning batsman, Rehan Peiris, scored a run-a-ball and Player of the Final 129. In the 50 overs allowed, Colombo South amassed 256 runs for 8 wickets and dismissed their opponents for 170 runs in 47.1 overs.SLC

Their incredible unbroken record was capped by Rehan Peiris’s innings, which was made even more astonishing by the young batting prodigy hitting up to 10 sixes and 5 boundaries in what was his second century of the tournament in Colombo South. The two combined for 120 runs for the second wicket, with Lasiru Sandakan scoring 40.

Senith Nethsara of Colombo North, Dasith Perera, and Lahiru Lakmal each took two wickets.
Janul Damhiru got two wickets for 42 for Colombo South, while Sadeesha Silva top scored for Colombo North U15 with 47, followed by Lahiru Lakmal with 28 and Yenula Danthanarayana with 23.
Yasiru Lakshan of Galle U15 was named Best Batsman of the Tournament, and Himaru Deshan of Colombo South was named Best Bowler of the Tournament. Rehan Peiris of Colombo South was named Player of the Final.srilankacricket
