The men of Panathinaikos double the “green joy” in the CEV Challenge Cup.

The Panathinaikos men’s team followed in the footsteps of their female counterparts, celebrating a home victory on Wednesday night just hours after Ioannis Kalmazidis’ team advanced to the men’s Challenge Cup 8th Finals. The ‘Greens’ capitalized on their 3-0 victory away from home to easily defeat Khari Byul-Byul SHUSHA of Azerbaijan, the rookies in the European Cup, in four sets. They will now advance to face Italy’s exceptional Mint Vero Volley MONZA.cev

‘ ‘We’re happy with it. We performed admirably in the opening two sets. Even though we didn’t win the third, the subsequent ones were still excellent. We rotated players extensively in order to give them a break due to the demanding schedule that lies ahead. We will learn as much as we can from challenging matches like the one that is about to take place.’We’re happy with it. We performed admirably in the opening two sets. Top scorer for Panathinaikos with 16 points, Angelos Markou: “It was a very nice experience.” The opposition was skilled. My teammates are there for me, and it’s great that they joined me in celebrating the points. We’ll give it our all in the upcoming round.

Khari Byul-Byul SHUSHA assistant coach Javid Suleymanov: “We are pleased with the effort we put forth. We are not as good as Panathinaikos, and they have more experience. We’ll try to go farther in this competition the following season.

Lachlan SHUSHA player John Bray: “Panathinaikos is a team with powerful history and great power.” We exerted all of our effort. Since our team was only formed two years ago, we’ll try our best for the upcoming season.sportzlanka.com
