Among the 1,166 players in the IPL 2024 Auction Register are Starc, Head, and Ravindra.

Of the 830 Indians, 18 are capped players, namely Varun Aaron, KS Bharat, Kedar Jadhav, Siddarth Kaul, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shivam Mavi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Harshal Patel, Chetan Sakariya, Mandeep Singh, Barinder Sran, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Hanuma Vihari, Sandeep Warrier and Umesh Yadav.

Only four of the capped Indians have set their base price at a maximum of Rs 2 crore: Harshal Patel, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav, who were all recently released by respective franchises. The remaining 14 will be available for Rs 50 lakh as a reserve price.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not commented to why Archer (27) has not entered the auction, although it was widely assumed among IPL clubs that he would not play this year due to an injury. Among the Australians, Hazlewood, Head, Starc, Cummins, Sean Abbott, Josh Inglis and Steve Smith are at the maximum base of price of Rs 2 crore. Md Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Mehidy Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahmudullah and Taskin Ahmed are from Bangladesh. Only Mustafizur is at Rs 2 crore. There are, of course, players from South Africa, West Indies, Ireland, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Scotland, UAE and the USA.

Franchisees have also been urged to respond with a list of players from the Register who they would want to see included in the Auction, with a warning that only 77 places are to be filled, with a maximum of 30 being available to international players.
