Bulls pull off a massive victory thanks to Gleeson; Gladiators defeat Abu Dhabi.

In the Gladiators’ victory, Letcher, Pooran, Kohler-Cadmore, and Thushara had prominent roles.

Delhi Bulls 83 for 3 (Powell 37*, Little 2-19) beat Bangla Tigers 81 for 7 (Brathwaite 21, Gleeson 3-4, Farooqi 2-15) by seven wickets

Richard Gleeson helped the Delhi Bulls defeat the Bangla Tigers on Saturday night by taking three significant wickets in one over and going on to earn Player of the Match. With their third straight victory, the Bulls took a commanding lead at the top of the table—at least for the time being.

After three overs, the Tigers were 28 for 2, and with Dasun Shanaka, David Miller, and Jordan Cox among others, they were poised to score another large total after defeating the Dubai Gladiators on Thursday with a score of 143 for 4. However, Gleeson abruptly altered the course of events in the fourth over, dismissing Miller, Shanaka, and Cox in that sequence, throwing the Tigers utterly off balance at 29 for 5.

Tigers did rally to 81 for 7, with to 20 not out in 15 deliveries from Daniel Sams and 21 in 17 from Carlos Brathwaite, but it was never going to be enough against Bulls’ potent batting lineup.

Within two overs, Quinton de Kock and Johnson Charles were out, but Bulls skipper Rovman Powell (37* in 11), James Vince (17 in nine), and Rilee Rossouw (21* in 11) ensured the team reached the goal in only six overs.

It was the Tigers’ second defeat in three games, and they finished the eight-game tournament ranked eighth.

Deccan Gladiators 141 for 6 (Fletcher 41, Kohler-Cadmore 35, Pooran 30, Mills 2-13, Raees 2-15) beat Team Abu Dhabi 78 for 5 (Du Plooy 25, Thushara 2-5) by 63 runs.

Andre Fletcher’s 12-ball 41 and explosive 30-ball scores from skipper Nicholas Pooran and Tom Kohler-Cadmore set the stage for Deccan Gladiators’ decisive victory over Team Abu Dhabi.

In the opening over, Pooran raced out of the blocks, hitting left-arm fingerspinner Roelof van der Merwe for two fours and two sixes. After that, Rumman Raees delivered a double punch, dismissing Pooran and Andre Russell in the fourth over with consecutive balls, but Kohler-Cadmore and Fletcher went on to restore Gladiators’ supremacy.

Fletcher faced 12 balls, six of which went to the boundary, including five sixes. Following rapid falls by Fletcher, Fabian Allen, and Kohler-Cadmore, David Wiese added the finishing touches with a 15 from six balls.

Abu Dhabi’s chase got off to a shaky start as they lost their first three wickets in five overs. To give the scoreline some legitimacy, Leus du Plooy (25), Colin Ingram (19), and skipper Dwaine Pretorius (9), rallied back. The best bowler for the Gladiators was Sri Lankan slinger Nuwan Thushara, who bowls for the Jaffna Kings in the League of Premier League. He finished with 2 for 5 in his two overs.
