02.The 22-time Grand Slam champion has had with hip problems.

After taking a year off from competitive tennis, Rafael Nadal will return in January in an effort to cap up his illustrious career in style.

The 22-time grand slam winner Rafael Nadal hasn’t played since sustaining a hip injury at the Australian Open in January, where he was defeated by Mackenzie McDonald in the second round.

Nadal said that he will be making a comeback at the Brisbane International in a video posted on X (previously Twitter). It’s time to return to competition after a year away. In Brisbane during the first week of January, that is. He said, “I’ll see you there.”

When Nadal’s hip injury did not heal as expected, the initial diagnosis of a six- to eight-week absence became a serious concern. After undergoing arthroscopic surgery, Rafael Nadal eventually confirmed his retirement from the French Open, where he has won 14 times.

For Nadal, the series of injuries has seemed to go on forever. This one was the most recent. Ever since the lockdown periods during the Covid break caused his longstanding foot problem to return, Rafael Nadal has found it difficult to stay healthy for any length of time.

In May, Rafael Nadal revealed that 2024 will probably be his final year on the circuit due to the psychological and physical effects of his injuries, which are also impacting his whole emotional state. “I want to enjoy being competitive and on the court, which is not possible today, and try to say goodbye to all the tournaments that have been important for me in my career,” he stated.

However, Nadal was less clear in September about what his 2024 season may bring. The 37-year-old stated that his main goal was to “be competitive” once more, but he is aware of how rapidly things can change, even though it now appears improbable that he can win Roland Garros or another major championship.

“I still believe that 2024 will be my final year, as I stated. However, I am not able to vouch for it. Even I’m not sure,” he remarked.
