Warriors are destroyed by Kohler-Cadmore’s 19-ball 69* and Thushara’s four-for.

Gladiators top the points table, while Samp Army’s winning run reaches four

Deccan Gladiators 104 for 2 (Kohler-Cadmore 69*) beat Northern Warriors 100 for 6 (Neesham 31, Thushara 4-12) by eight wickets

Samp Army’s dominance at the top of the points table was short-lived, as Deccan Gladiators raced to the top of the Abu Dhabi T10 on Tuesday night behind Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s explosive 19-ball 69 not out and Nuwan Thushara’s 4 for 12. The Northern Warriors, who were defeated by eight wickets in their fourth straight defeat, were the ones who suffered the most from the two-man show.

With his second and fourth deliveries of the day, Thushara removed Kennar Lewis and Hazratullah Zazai from the game. After two balls, Josh Cobb was run out on the fifth ball of the over, bringing the Warriors down to 13 for 3. It took 34 balls for Angelo Mathews and Jimmy Neesham to put up 50 runs for the fourth wicket.

In his second over, Thushara came back to dismiss Mathews and Azmatullah Omarzai, concluding the match with the greatest bowling stats of the year thus far.

Following a couple of massive smashes from Rahul Chopra and Neesham, the Warriors were reduced to 100 for 6 in ten overs.

However, Kohler-Cadmore made a joke out of the objective. In the opening over of the chase, he hit Mathews for four sixes, then he hit Omarzai for three straight fours, and finally he hit Tabraiz Shamsi for one four and three sixes. He reached his fifty off just 13 balls along the way.

With four fours and eight sixes in an almost unfathomable 363.15, Kohler-Cadmore’s strike rate took Gladiators all of 6.1 overs to hunt down the mark.

Morrisville Samp Army v Bangla Tigers. Abu Dhabi T10 Season 6, Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE. 24th November 2022

Samp Army 85 for 4 (Gous 42, Howell 1-8) beat Bangla Tigers 82 (Cox 27, Irshad 3-12, Qais 3-14, Janat 2-4) by six wickets

With the support of Andries Gous’ 20-ball 42 and the miserly three-wicket hauls from Qais Ahmad and Salman Irshad, Samp Army defeated Bangla Tigers by six wickets to extend their winning run to four games. They now have eight points after five games thanks to the victory.

Jason Holder hit in his opening over when Samp Army decided to field, but Jordan Cox took it easy on the bowlers until Qais and co. wrecked their innings. With the final ball of the fifth over, Qais first removed Cox, then in the next over, Karim Janat claimed two wickets.

After that, Qais removed Daniel Sams and Dominic Drakes from the game with consecutive deliveries, and Irshad claimed two wickets in an over as the Tigers fell from 36 for 1 to 59 for 8 in 22 balls. Benny Howell (11* off six balls) and Rohan Mustafa (11 off eight) pushed Tigers to 82 before they were bowled out off the final ball of the innings.

As Samp Army responded, they lost Faf du Plessis early on. However, Gous hit two fours in the opening over and then took Shannon Gabriel for two fours and two sixes. Gabriel scored 26 runs in his opening over after going 2 for 2 on Monday. In the middle overs, Samp Army did become a little lost, but Gous’s furious knock offset that.

With 10 balls remaining, Samp Army was victorious thanks to the concluding strikes from Captain Moeen Ali and Najibullah Zadran.
