SSC vs Police SC | SLC Major Clubs League Tournament 2023/24 – Final
In the Sri Lanka Cricket Major Clubs League Tournament, SSC and Police SC were crowned equal winners after the final day’s play at the NCC grounds rained out without a ball being played.
After being called into bat by the opposition, SSC scored 253 for 3 wickets on the first day of play, but the game ended in a standoff with just one innings completed.
The standout came from SSCs Avishka Fernando and Shevon Daniel, who combined for a century and a half during their 111-run opening combination.
The tournament’s Best Batsman and Best Bowler were determined by NCC’s Lahiru Udara and Police SC’s Malinda Pushpakumara, while Ravindu Fernando of Tamil Union won the title of Best Player of the Tournament.
At the awards event, Ashen Bandara, the captain of the Police SC, and Nipun Dhananjaya, the captain of the SSC, accepted the Championship trophy from Kamal Dharmasiri, the head of cricket development for Sri Lanka Cricket.
