New Zealand squad against Bangladesh

Kyle Jamieson has a stiff hamstring after returning from the tour of Bangladesh.
Concerns over fast bowler Kyle Jamieson’s fitness have led New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to make changes to their men’s team for the next three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
Jamieson, a vital member of New Zealand’s fast-bowling unit, may be forced to miss the opening One-Day International against Bangladesh because of a strained left hamstring.
Notably, Jamieson made a good comeback to New Zealand after the two-Test series in Bangladesh, where he finished with two wickets and fifty-two runs in three innings.
Ben Sears, an uncapped fast bowler, has been called up by New Zealand Cricket as a precaution following Jamieson’s injury. The 25-year-old Sears joins the club to cover for Jamieson, guaranteeing the team’s depth in the fast-bowling division.
Player well-being is our first concern.
The New Zealand team’s head coach, Gary Stead, stressed the significance of putting player wellness first. Stead stated that while Jamieson could be able to play if needed, the coaching staff decided to play it safe and started Sears in the opening game.
We’re going about things cautiously with Kyle. It’s early in our home summer, so we don’t want to rush or push him back. Ben has been called in for this first game because we don’t want to take any additional chances, but he might play if it is absolutely required. According to ESPNcricinfo, Stead stated, “Ben is accustomed to the team environment, and it’s good to see him back at full fitness for the [Wellington] Firebirds.”
Sears, yet to make his ODI debut, is no stranger to the New Zealand team environment. Having played six T20Is and previously featured in the ODI squad for the Chappell-Hadlee Series against Australia last year, Sears brings a level of familiarity to the squad. With 36 wickets in 29 List A matches at an average of 33.77, his inclusion aims to bolster the team’s bowling options.
New Zealand’s revised ODI Squad for Bangladesh series:
Captain: Tom Latham
Players: Adi Ashok (games 2 & 3), Finn Allen, Tom Blundell, Mark Chapman, Josh Clarkson, Jacob Duffy, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Henry Nicholls, Will O’Rourke, Rachin Ravindra, Ish Sodhi (game 1), Will Young, Ben Sears
