The Hurricanes’ innings was salvaged to an above-average score by a 17-ball fifty, but despite a respectable spell of 1-25 in 3 overs, they were utterly defeated by the Perth Scorchers at Perth Stadium by 9 wickets with 23 balls remaining.

The Hobart Hurricanes chose to bat first, but were completely destroyed by Behrendorff’s opening over, which saw him take out Sam Hain and Ben McDermott in back-to-back deliveries. Behrendorff promptly removed the dangerous Tim David and then Caleb Jewel, leaving the Hurricanes behind 28–4.

After Andrew Tye ended Corey Anderson’s struggle, the Hurricanes recovered with to a 56-run partnership between Michael Owen and Nikhil Chaudhary. Chris Jordan then took control, scoring 65 runs in 28 balls with Patrick Dooley to lead the Hurricanes to a respectable total.

Cooper Connolly was removed early in the chase by Chris Jordan, but Zak Crawley and Aaron Hardie didn’t give the Hurricanes a chance, scoring the final 157 runs in an astonishing 83 balls to inflict the Hurricanes a crushing defeat in Perth, winning by nine wickets.
