The hitter from Bangladesh saved his team from 80 for 4 to help score 291 before the top five players from the hosts came together to win easily.
In the second ODI against New Zealand, Soumya Sarkar struck a career-high 169 of Bangladesh’s 291 total, but the visitors were still well short in Nelson.
With Will Young hitting 89 and Henry Nicholls hitting 95, the hosts were able to coast through the chase, which was finished with 22 balls and seven wickets down. The other five batsmen for the hosts also contributed to their success.
Consequently, New Zealand led the three-match series 2-0 after winning the opening ODI in Dunedin on Sunday by a margin of 44 runs.
