Sandeep Lamichhane, a former captain of Nepal, was found guilty of rape.

The 23-year-old Lamichhane, considered the face of cricket in Nepal, gained prominence as the sole player from his country to participate in various prominent Twenty20 leagues. Lawyer Lamichhane will file an appeal with a higher court.

Lamichhane’s legal team, headed by attorney Sabita Bhandari Baral, has expressed unhappiness with the ruling and stated that they want to appeal it to a higher court.

“We weren’t prepared for this ruling… As cited by the Tribune, Baral said, “We are frustrated.” “We’ll definitely appeal,” she continued.
