Kandy Customs and Tamil Union had a successful year-end.

With victories against Ace Capital CC and Ragama CC in their respective exchanges of the SLC Major Clubs Limited against Tournament yesterday, Tamil Union and Kandy Customs closed off 2023 on a high note.

At the P. Sara International Stadium, Tamil Union defeated Ragama CC by 5 wickets after they were bowled out for 92 in 26.3 overs. Ragama’s squad, which included numerous well-known players, was badly damaged by Ravindu Fernndo’s 4 wicket haul for 37 runs and Shiran Fernando’s 3 for 19. With Ron Chandraguptha undefeated at 39, Tamil Union finished in just 15.3 overs, despite the lone effort of Ragama’s Chamath Gomez, who took 4 for 9.

At the Panadura Esplanade, Kandy Customs CC defeated Ace Capital CC by 49 runs. With Rohan Jayatissa scoring 4 for 30 and Ravindu Ratnayake taking 5 for 41, the Customs men reached 175 in 27.5 overs.

Despite a half-century from Pawantha Weerasinghe (56), Ace Capital folded up for 126 in 26.4 overs. Hasitha Nirmal of Kandy Customs caused the rot with a 4-wicket haul for 19, helped by 2-wicket hauls from Imesh Udayanga and Mithun Jayawickrama.
