Sri Lanka Cricket today distributed bowling machines to 22 island-wide schools.

Mr. Shammi Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket; Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa, Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket; Mr. Thilak Waththuhewa, President of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association; and a number of other SLC office bearers attended the distribution, which was held at the SLC offices.

Lumbini College, Royal College, D.S. Senanayake College, and Moratu Vidyalaya – Isipathana College – Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya – De Mazenod College, Kandana – St. Anthony’s College, Wattala – Gurukula College, Kelaniya – St. Joseph Vas College, Wennappuwa – St. Sebastian’s College, Katuneriya – Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha – Maliyadeva College, and St. Anne’s College of Kurunegala, St. Anthony’s College – Dharmaraja College and St. Sylvester’s College of Kandy – St. Thomas College, Matara – Devapathiraja College, Rathgama – Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda – St. Aloysius College, Galle and Holy Cross College, Kalutara were the schools that received the bowling machines.

The bowling equipment were given to the schools together with 36 practice balls, a practice ball bag, and an auto feeder that holds 28 balls.

Under the direction of President Shammi Silva and the SLC Executive Committee, the initiative was started. It is a component of the National Pathway program, which aims to provide schools with the tools they need to play competitive cricket.

In addition to bowling machines, Sri Lanka Cricket offers cricket supplies, concrete and matting wickets, center-turf wickets, balls needed for U13, U15, U17, and U19 competitions, and other facilities necessary for schools to play cricket.

During today’s event, bowling machines were also given to four district associations.
