The four-day National Super League cricket event, hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket, came to an end without a conclusion during the first week of play. However, in the games played, the first innings were won by Team Jaffna and Team Kandy.

These battles proceeded for the fourth day today (21), and Ashen Daniel was able to emerge as the player of the day. Taking five wickets at 59 runs, he was part of Team Kandy.

As a result, 351 runs was Team Galle’s goal to win. Their innings was at 201 for the loss of 7 wickets when the rain forced the end of the play.

Lahiru Udara, who scored nine runs without conceding a loss in Team Kandy’s second innings the day before, amassed 72 runs in 72 balls with five fours and three sixes today. Furthermore, Kasun Vidura scored 34 points. He scored two fours and lost 91 balls.

That he and the other player could put up a partnership of 96 runs in 124 balls for the first wicket was amazing.

In bowling, Udit Madhushan claimed a wicket and Ramesh Mendis claimed three for 74 runs.

Team Galle’s standout innings today was the opening batsman Oshanda Fernando. He scored 75 off 82 balls with 10 fours and a six. Ashen Daniel took 5 wickets for 59 runs while Lasith Amudeniya and Lasith Lakshan shared a wicket each.
