In the Albert F. Pieris Stadium in Wennappuwa, on January 20 and 21, over forty teams from across the nation competed in the Dialog National Netball Tournament 2024.
The eight groups in each league, ranging from A to H, made up the first portion of the tournament draw. The victor of each league advanced to the quarterfinals.
The Navy team and Ports Authority had to settle for third place after a thrilling battle in the Semi Finals, and Team HNB and the Sri Lanka Air Force fought for the title once more, with HNB exploring to continue their winning run and the Air Force determined to go back in time and rewrite a legacy once and for all.
The Final was scheduled to begin at 3.30 pm at the complex’s indoor courts following the conclusion of the third-place match, which saw the Navy team win 61 to 40. Before their last match, both sides warmed up for thirty minutes, exuding intensity and sparkle.
The Air Force squad attempted to lead the first quarter by three points at 9–12, with the game being played in four quarters of fifteen minutes each. The second quarter saw team HNB regaining momentum, though, as they tied the game and took a one-point lead at the finish. (23-22).
For the following thirty minutes, the fans had to balance nervousness and excitement as the battle stayed close into the third quarter. HNB had a one-point advantage at the end of the third quarter, 33–32.

With a final score of 40-39, Team HNB closed yet another chapter in Sri Lanka Netball 2023, bringing home the glory of national netball after the fourth quarter finished in a draw at 7-7.
