Angelo and Pawan’s get two centuries

When the second day (26) of the second week of Sri Lanka Cricket‘s National Super League came to a conclusion, Team Dambulla’s Angelo Mathews and Pawan Ratnayake had managed to establish a double century combination against Team Colombo.

For the fourth wicket in that innings, they both scored 253 runs in 437 balls, and they both made century, which made them stand out.

Ahan Wickramasinghe of Team Kandy distinguished himself among the batters as well, amassing a half-century, while Geoffrey Vandersay of Team Jaffna produced the day’s greatest bowling performance.

Team Dambulla and Team Colombo 

The lads from Team Dambulla extended their innings to 530 runs today after scoring 287 for three wickets the day before. After scoring 47 runs without conceding an out the day before, Angelo Mathews scored 31 runs today, while Pawan Ratnayake reached his century.

Between them, Pawan Ratnayake scored 130 runs from 220 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes, and Angelo Mathews scored 146 runs from 275 balls with 17 fours and a six.

This is Pawan Ratnayake’s fourth first-class century and Angelo Mathews’ thirty-first.

Isitha Wijesundara and Lakshitha Manasinghe split three wickets apiece in the wicket-taking contest, while Prabhat Jayasuriya claimed two and Kasun Rajitha claimed one.

At the conclusion of the day, Team Colombo—who had come into the game intending to chase a massive amount of runs—had taken 98 wickets.

Captain Kusal Mendis scored 29 not out with five fours off 31 balls, while Didimuth Karunaratne struck 42 not out with six fours off 50 balls.

Belonged to Vishwa Fernando, the scorched wicket.
