The World Badminton Federation and the Asian Badminton Association approved the Sri Lanka Badminton Institute’s organization of the Li Ning Sri Lanka Challenge international badminton competition, which concluded on Sunday (11).

The fact that Indian sportsmen were able to demonstrate exceptional performance and win three gold and three silver medals in this special competition, in which other nations took part, is remarkable.

In addition to women’s and men’s singles gold medals, Indian athletes who won mixed doubles gold also took home silver medals in women’s doubles and men’s and women’s singles.

Men’s singles badminton event final will include competitors from 14 different countries. The score was -14 in favor of Ishrani Barua.

Asit Surya and Amruta Pramudesh of India fell to Poonath Horbanlukit and Chasini Koripap of Thailand in the mixed doubles final, 15-21 and 21-13.

Thailand’s Pichamon Patcharapisutsin and Nannapas Suklad broke India’s tournament supremacy in the women’s doubles final, winning the gold medal with a 21-12 and 21-14 victory over Ruthaparna Panda and Sweterpana Panda from India.

Rahmat Hidayat and Jeremiah Ericha of Indonesia won the gold medal in the men’s doubles final, defeating Brian Jeremy and Fasrik Mohd of Malaysia 18-21, 21-15, and 21-15.

The Sri Lanka Badminton Institute President, Mr. Rohan De Silva, and Director General of Sports, Prof. Shemal Fernando, oversaw the tournament’s trophy presentation ceremony. Officials were also in attendance.
