Pacific Four Series of World Rugby will return in 2024.
2024.02.15
The World Rugby Pacific Four Series will be again in 2024, with games in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States from April 27 to May 25, 2024.
There is a lot on the line because the side that finishes last in the competition will be the one to advance to the Women’s Rugby World Cup in England in 2025. Given that both Canada and New Zealand have already qualified as semifinalist teams for the RWC 2021, Australia and the USA will be vying to be the next highest-ranked team in order to guarantee their position.
The top three teams from the Pacific Four Series will compete in WXV 1 alongside the top three teams from the Guinness Women’s Six Nations 2024, while the bottom-finishing country will compete in WXV 2 alongside three teams from Europe and regional qualification winners from Africa and Asia. The Pacific Four Series is also offering a route to qualify for WXV 2024.
Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States compete in the biennial Pacific Four Series. The USA will host a stand-alone match on April 27 against Canada, the WXV 1 2023 runners-up.
In order to maintain their perfect record in the competition, New Zealand will be trying to win a third straight championship.
Following their 2023 hosting of World Cup, the Black Ferns will host Australia, Canada, and the United States. These teams will face off against the reigning Women’s Rugby World Cup champions over three weekends starting on May 11.
Under new coach Jo Yapp, Australia will want to build on their victories against France and Wales in WXV 1 when they play Canada and USA
