Final matchup with India, the archrivals:

The competition, which begins on June 1 and will be held in the West Indies and the USA, will open with a thrilling match between the USA and Canada in Dallas. The tour of Pakistan starts on June 6 against the United States, while the much anticipated match against India is set on June 9 at Eisenhower Park in New York.

Misbah’s analysis of Pakistan’s batting lineup for the 2024 T20 World Cup

Misbah explored the middle order dynamics during a conversation on a local sports channel, highlighting the crucial roles played by Agha Salman, Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Shadab Khan. The success of Pakistan in the tournament can be attributed to the fact that these individuals were identified as potential assets to strengthen the middle-order of the team.

“I think the names I’m seeing are straightforward. There is Agha Salman, there is Azam Khan, there is Iftikhar Ahmed, and there is Shadab Khan. You’ve already been thinking about Fakhar,” Misbah remarked.

The top-order structure was also taken into account strategically. Misbah revealed a great preference for Muhammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, and Babar Azam. Misbah’s suggestion for a possible reorganization, which supported Ayub as the opener in addition to the seasoned pair of Azam and Rizwan, was the most significant discovery, though. Misbah says Saim is a perfect fit for the opening position because of his left-hand and right-hand combo.

“You are aware of the top three: Saim Ayub, Muhammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam. Saim, in my opinion, should be at the top. After that, you should either start Babar at three or open with him, or you should start Rizwan at three or open. The 49-year-old stated, “You need a left-hand, right-hand combination, so Saim should be the opener.”

Under the leadership of Shoaib Malik, Pakistan had a difficult beginning to the 2007 world cup, which resulted in a championship match versus India. Regretfully, they lost to India and were unable to win the prized trophy. However, atonement arrived quickly as Pakistan recovered to win the 2009 T20 World Cup. They triumphed in an exciting summit match against Sri Lanka, proving their mettle in the shortest format.

Pakistan has not won a trophy in the T20 World Cup since their 2009 victory, despite their early success. The squad showed remarkable talent in the 2022 event, earning a trip to the championship round. But England, winning a closely contested final by five wickets, prevented them from winning the title.
