Sikandar Raza regrets Zimbabwe’s exclusion from T20 World Cup.

On the eve of their white-ball series in Bangladesh, Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza stated on Thursday that the squad would suffer years if they missed the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, which takes place next month.
In the African phase of the qualifications last year, minnows Namibia and Uganda defeated Zimbabwe to join the world’s best teams in the tournament, which is being co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies.
That, in my opinion, is something that will always hurt. Not just when we’re playing, but maybe even when we hang up our boots,” Sikandar Raza said to reporters in Bangladesh.
“It’s not just pain we’re experiencing right now; I believe we’ll have to bear it for a very long time.”
Nevertheless, he said, Zimbabwe was full of desire for their tour of Bangladesh, where the first of five Twenty20 matches gets underway in Chittagong this Friday.
He said, “We have a great responsibility back home for the people and the kids that are playing this sport and the kids that want to pursue this as a career.”
“I try to take away the pain because I care about the sport’s future in (my) country.”
Bangladesh’s final home series before they head to the T20 World Cup will be against Zimbabwe.
