The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 4 wickets in the 69th game, which took place on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

PBKS chose to bat first and amassed an impressive 214/5 on the scoreboard. With a lively pair, openers Prabhsimran Singh (71 runs) and Atharva Taide (46 runs) laid a strong platform. Later, cameos from Jitesh Sharma (32 runs) and Rilee Rossouw (49 runs) increased the score even more.

Only T Natarajan (2 wickets), Pat Cummins, and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth (1 wicket) were able to make inroads for SRH due to their lackluster bowling assault.

With an over remaining, SRH demonstrated their potent batting depth by successfully chasing down the target in response. The highlight of the match was Abhishek Sharma (66 runs), who scorched six sixes and five fours in a furious innings. In the middle order, Heinrich Klaasen (42 runs) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (37 runs) both made significant contributions.

The bowlers for Punjab Kings had difficulty keeping the SRH batsmen at bay; only Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel claimed two wickets each. Without taking a wicket, Rahul Chahar and Rishi Dhawan gave up 35 and 43 runs, respectively, demonstrating their ineffectiveness.
