The Afghanistan cricket team has recruited former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as a bowling consultant for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. In June, the United States and the West Indies will share hosting duties for the international tournament.

Playing 295 international matches, the renowned all-rounder scored 6423 runs. Bravo, who is 40 years old, also claimed 363 wickets. Bravo’s resume also includes 227 List A, 573 T20, and 100 First-Class caps.

With 625 wickets under his belt, the former West Indies star is the top wicket-taker in T20 cricket. Bravo is among the best fast bowling all-rounders in the shortest format with over 6500 runs scored, to boot.

DJ Bravo and the West Indies won the T20 World Cup twice. Bravo won three IPL championships with the Chennai Super Kings and one Champions League T20 trophy with the same team in the Indian Premier League.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced in a media release on Tuesday, May 21, that Dwayne Bravo has been appointed as the bowling consultant for the next ICC tournament. According to the board, Dwayne Bravo, a former West Indian great and winner of the T20 World Cup, has been appointed as the bowling consultant for the Afghanistan National Team for the T20 World Cup 2024. Bravo will be a part of the team at the training camp leading up to the major tournament in the Caribbean.

In addition, the renowned all-round player has one Pakistan Super League victory. He won five titles in the Caribbean Premier League and two in the Big Bash. In addition, he won three titles in the Caribbean T20 league at home. This increased his career total to 17 championships in the shortest format.

Bravo not only had a stellar international career but also coached the Chennai Super Kings’ bowling unit throughout the IPL 2024 competition. Chennai, though, was unable to advance to the postseason.

In front of the forthcoming ICC competition, the Afghanistan squad has already landed in the Caribbean Islands and is anticipated to start their 10-day training camp today. Bravo, their new bowling guru, together with the coaching team, will oversee the training.
