England captain Jos Buttler chose to bowl first after winning the toss. However, the Australian batters had different intentions. David Warner (39 runs) got them off to a flying start with a flurry of boundaries, while Travis Head (34 runs) offered crucial assistance at the other end. Mitchell Marsh (35 runs) and Marcus Stoinis (30 runs) carried the pace with bold hits, pushing the Australian total above 200 runs.
