Pakistan Champions, who chose to bat first, were reduced to 156/6. The top-scorer for Pakistan was Shoaib Malik (41 runs), who demonstrated his expertise with a well-paced innings that contained three sixes. Openers Kamran Akmal (24 runs) and Sohaib Maqsood (21 runs) made significant contributions, while the remainder of the batting lineup struggled against a disciplined Indian bowling attack.
