Australia’s three Olympic medalists from Tokyo, Nicola Olyslagers, Kelsey-Lee Barber, and Ashley Moloney, are among the 75 athletes named to the squad for the Paris Games, which run from August 1 to 11.
Barber will be joined in the women’s javelin by Mackenzie Little, a global bronze medalist, and Kathryn Mitchell, who has been nominated for her fourth Olympics. Olyslagers will compete in the high jump with Eleanor Patterson, the 2022 world champion, while Moloney has been confirmed for the decathlon.
The squad also includes world pole vault champion Nina Kennedy, world 20km race walk silver medalist Jemima Montag, and world pole vault bronze medalist Kurtis Marschall, as well as discus thrower Matthew Denny.
Jessica Hull, who improved the Oceanian 1500m record to 3:50.83 in Paris on Sunday and moved up to sixth on the global all-time list, will compete in the event with Georgia Griffith and Linden Hall. Torrie Lewis, a sprinter, will make her Olympic debut in the 200m and 4x100m relays.
