Choosing Phrygian caps as the mascot for Paris 2024, the organizers hope to honor the spirit of the French Revolution.
Phryges wants to demonstrate that sports are powerful forces that have the power to transform society and should be given a prominent position. Julie Matikhine, the brand director for Paris 2024, has stated, “We were almost ready to not make a mascot if we didn’t find a real reason to do so, and a real message to convey.”
