The West Indies had actually led by 41 runs in the first innings, scoring 457 in response to England’s 416.
The visitors put on a promising performance after being knocked out twice cheaply in the first Test at Lord’s, losing by an innings and 114 runs.
But once England paceman Chris Woakes got the first breakthrough on Sunday, it was unable to stop Bashir.
England batsman Ollie Pope was selected player of the match after making 172 runs, 121 of which came in the first innings.
