Hathurusingha, a former Sri Lankan international cricketer, was appointed Bangladesh’s all-format coach early in 2023 on a two-year contract.
Following the instability, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is likely to undergo significant restructuring.
“I have signed a contract until whatever date, and I’m looking forward to serving that term,” Hathurusingha, 55, told reporters in Rawalpindi on Monday.
“If the board is replaced and the new members want to make a change, I am OK with it. (If) they want me to continue, and they’re satisfied with me, I’m fine with that.”
He further indicated that his “thoughts and prayers are with the families that lost loved ones.”
Hathurusingha is preparing his side for the first game in a two-match Test series against Pakistan, which begins Wednesday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Hathurusingha, a former Sri Lankan international cricketer, was named Bangladesh’s all-format coach early in 2023 on a two-year deal. Hathurusingha’s second term as Bangladesh coach, after his tenure from 2014 to 2017, before leaving to coach Sri Lanka.
