The International Cricket Council has officially unveiled the schedule for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.

The ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 program has been formally released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and it will be held in Malaysia. The competition will begin on January 18 and end on February 2 with a grand finale. With this historic occasion, Malaysia will host the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup for the first time, ushering in an exciting new era for women’s cricket.

A total of 16 teams, split into four groups of four teams each, will compete in the event. Fans can expect a great cricket spectacle with 41 exciting matches spread over four sites over the course of 16 days. The following 16 teams are among the participants

  • Group A: India (A1), West Indies (A2), Sri Lanka (A3), and Malaysia (A4). Matches will be held at Bayuemas Oval in Selangor.
  • Group B: England (B1), Pakistan (B2), Ireland (B3), and the USA (B4). These matches are scheduled at Dato’ Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy (JCA Oval) in Johor.
  • Group C: New Zealand (C1), South Africa (C2), Africa’s Qualifier (C3), and Samoa (C4). The games will take place at Borneo Cricket Ground in Sarawak.
  • Group D: Australia (D1), Bangladesh (D2), Asia’s Qualifier (D3), and Scotland (D4). This group will compete at the UKM YSD Oval in Selangor.

From January 13 to January 16, a set of 16 warm-up matches will take place prior to the main event, giving the teams a chance to adjust their tactics and get used to the surroundings. On January 18, the competition will get underway with a bang, with six matches scheduled for the first day. These include important matches that happen at the same time, such Australia vs. England, England vs. Ireland, and Samoa vs. Africa Qualifier. On January 19, India and the West Indies will play their inaugural encounter.

The ICC has set reserve days for each knockout match in order to guarantee equity throughout the elimination phases. The reserve day for both semi-finals is February 1, while the final features a reserve day on February 3. At first, Malaysia and Thailand were supposed to co-host the event. But because of their departure, Malaysia will be the only country hosting this eagerly awaited competition.

The top three teams from each group will move on to the Super Six level after the group round. They will now be split into two groups, each consisting of six teams. One Super Six group will consist of the top three teams from Groups A and D, and the other group will be made up of the top three teams from Groups B and C. Importantly, clubs’ net run rates and points from the group stage will be carried over, giving every game more significance.

Each Super Six group’s top two teams advance to the semi-finals. Interestingly, India would play in Semi-Final 2 if they get to the semi-finals. The reigning champions, India, will be keen to defend their crown following their spectacular victory over England by seven wickets in the final of the first tournament hosted in South Africa in 2023.
