Bangladesh’s historic victory over Pakistan in the Rawalpindi Test marked their first-ever series win in and against the country.
The Bangladesh cricket team achieved a historic double over Pakistan in the two-match Test series, winning convincingly by six wickets at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This was an unbelievable turn of events. The Tigers’ victory against their bitter rivals in their own turf is evidence of their tenacity and willpower.
The Pakistani batting lineup collapsed spectacularly on the last day of the second Test, giving up just 172 runs in their second innings. Bangladesh easily knocked down the goal of 185 runs when they resumed their batting at 40 for no loss, winning by six wickets.
Litton Das, a batsman and wicket keeper, was instrumental in Bangladesh’s victory, amassing a vital 138 runs in the opening session. Along with 78 runs from Mehidy Hasan Miraz, he formed a combination that allowed the Tigers to score a respectable 262 runs.
Pakistan’s batting line fell short in the second innings, despite a valiant half-century from Agha Salman. The top-order batsmen for the hosts found it difficult to adjust to the circumstances, and their middle order broke under duress.
Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud, the bowlers from Bangladesh, wrecked havoc on Pakistan’s batting order. Their ability to extract movement from the pitch and their methodical bowling proved to be too much for the hosts to handle.
