Kennedy wins pole vault in Zurich, and Duplantis overcomes Warholm in the 100 meters.

On the eve of the big Weltklasse Wanda Diamond League meeting in Zurich on Wednesday night (4), there could only be one winner of the highlight 100m head-to-head when the starting gun sounded following all of the pre-race drama in front of the crowded Letzigrund Stadion grandstand.
After the two threw off the boxing-style dressing robes they were wearing when they entered the arena, the young Swede, who has already rewritten the world mark for the pole vault ten times, did more than just give the quickest 400-meter hurdler a tough time.
Duplantis then gave his Norwegian friend something of a backside kick, shooting off his blocks, leading from gun to tape, and crossing the finish line in 10.37 (0.1 m/s) to emerge victorious. This was yet another personal record, this one 0.2 faster than the one he set in high school in 2018.
