Rain or a soggy outfield caused the third day of play in the one-off cricket test between Afghanistan and New Zealand to end without a ball being bowled.

since of the rain that fell overnight, umpires had little option on Wednesday since even in the unlikely event that conditions improved, play would not be permitted due to the wet outfield.

Afghanistan is unable to hold international cricket on its own soil, hence the match is being held close to the capital of India. On the first three of the test’s five scheduled days, the weather has so far prevented any play at all.

For the past ten days, there has been nonstop rain in the Delhi region.

If the weather permits, the throw has been postponed for Thursday at 9 a.m.

Afghanistan will play three cricket tests in 2024, after one-off matches against Sri Lanka and Ireland.

The game was meant to mark the beginning of New Zealand’s three-month tour to the subcontinent.
