In the Women’s ODI Tri-Series final, India outperformed Sri Lanka by 97 runs thanks to clinical performances in all departments.

India Women outperformed Sri Lanka Women by 97 runs in the final of the Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation Series 2025, which took place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Khettarama. After winning the toss, India chose to bat first and put on a batting display before their bowlers suffocated the hosts in a one-sided affair to win the trophy.

Smriti Mandhana once again proved herself with a magnificent knock of 116 off 101 deliveries, adorned with two sixes and 15 boundaries, which served as the cornerstone of India’s innings. Her timing and fluid strokework enthralled the Colombo audience and created the ideal setting for a huge total.

She was supported at the top by Harleen Deol’s useful hit of 47 off 56 and Pratika Rawal’s steady 30 off 49 balls. With cameos from Jemimah Rodrigues (44 off 29) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (41 off 30), the middle order maintained the pace. India reached an impressive 342/7 in 50 overs thanks to valuable lower-order contributions from Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers were costly throughout the innings even though they took wickets often. Sugandika Kumari, Malki Madara, and Dewmi Vihanga all shared two wickets, but none of them was able to stop the run-flow.

As a result of losing Hasini Perera for a duck early on, Sri Lanka had a rough start. With a valiant 51 off 66 balls, captain Chamari Athapaththu stabilized the innings, but the top order did not provide consistent assistance. Despite resistance from Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne (36), Nilakshi de Silva (48), and Anushka Sanjeewani (28), none of them were able to turn their beginnings into innings that changed the outcome of the match.

Throughout the chase, the Indian bowlers were controlled and disciplined. The highlight performer was Sneh Rana, who broke the back of Sri Lanka’s middle order with an incredible 4/38 in 9.2 overs. With figures of 3/54, Amanjot also made an impression, while Shree Charani took a wicket to maintain the pressure on the hosts. Sri Lanka ultimately fell far short of the objective, being bowled out for 245 in 48.2 overs.
